How to install my COCO SHADE SAIL FOR PERGOLA ?
The same applies to the coco shade sail for pergola with spaced rails.
The installation of this shade sail is simple, but requires special attention regarding the fixation points, which you will set up yourself, so that the shade sail is well stretched and attached to the structure. Fine coconut rope (20m) is provided free of charge for the set up of your attachment points.
And for the Robusta line, which has a denser weave, we recommend using our needle to make installation and tying knots easier.
Important : For optimum shade sail support and longevity, it’s important that your structure has support bars spaced at a maximum of 80 cm apart. If this isn’t the case, you have 2 options:
– either install steel cables for support
– or choose our coco shade sail for pergola with spaced rails, which is reinforced every meter in a grid pattern.
1 On the ground, fully unfold the shade sail and position it in the desired orientation under the structure
2 Next, roll it up, place it on your structure, and unroll it completely once it’s in place.
3 Secure the four corners, starting with the opposite ones to ensure the fabric is taut.
4 Next, create attachment points every 25 to 30 cm by threading the thin cord provided through the weave of the shade cloth (whenever possible, use two thin cords from the weave plus the thicker cord from the edge) all the way around the perimeter of your structure.
5 Finish by securing the knots to the support bars as tightly as possible to prevent any risk of chafing.
Note : Because the weave is denser, we recommend using a needle to tie the knots for the Robusta line.

> If the shade sail is too small
If your shade sail is 5 to 10 cm shorter than your structure, you can wet it with plenty of water, once it’s in place, to make it a few centimetres longer, stretching it gently before attaching it.
> If the shade sail is too large
