Usage
Square or rectangular openwork sail for hanging. Suitable for gardens, terraces, balconies, and can be attached to various supports: walls, posts, trees, etc. thanks to its numerous attachment loops. The Coco Robusta hanging sail is designed to last and offer better protection from the sun. It is particularly suitable for southern regions or areas exposed to wind.
Installation system
Recommended mounting height: minimum 2.80 m & minimum 3 m for areas larger than 10 m2.
The size of the sail chosen must be at least 50 cm smaller than the area to be shaded in order to achieve good tension.
Loops already fitted with thimbles for easy installation.
Required accessories: 10 meters of rope with a diameter of 1 cm to create the attachments at the fixing points. Please note that depending on the configuration of the area to be shaded, you may need more rope.
It is recommended to double the rope at the attachment point to make it easier to tension the sail at the corners.
The use of specific hardware sets is strongly recommended for the installation of this model, in particular the use of stainless steel cables. See installation guide.

Maintenance
No special maintenance is required. However, whenever possible, it is advisable to store the shade in a dry, well-ventilated place away from rodents during the low season.
Weather info
– When in contact with water, the coconut fiber weave relaxes, the shade cloth becomes heavier, doubling in weight, then returns to its initial tension once dry. This is how the fiber reacts to moisture.
– In regions prone to snowfall, it is strongly recommended to winterize the coconut shade cloth to prevent any potential damage.
– For large shade cloths, we recommend installing cables under the fabric to support the weight of the shade cloth or providing accessories such as carabiners to facilitate installation and removal of the fabric.
– During prolonged periods of drought, it is advisable to mist or wet the shade cloth from time to time to extend its life. Coconut fiber prefers a slightly humid climate.
– Finally, coconut fiber naturally grays over time, taking on a silvery hue that adds rustic charm. This change in appearance does not affect its effectiveness.

Shade sail suspended from cables: the wide-span coconut fibre model
This shade sail, suspended from Robusta coconut fibre cables, is secured at a minimum of ten points, distributed along a grid of stainless steel cables. This design changes everything: instead of concentrating the load on four corners, the tension is distributed around the entire perimeter, allowing for dimensions of up to 4×6 m without the fabric becoming distorted. This is essential with this fabric: in large sizes, a Robusta weighs nearly 40 kg when dry and doubles in weight when wet. Nine sizes are available, from 2×3 m to 4×6 m, with the appearance adjustable when tensioned — stretched tight like a sail or deliberately loosened.
Intense shade for exposed terraces
Weighing 1,600 g/m² and featuring a 17 mm rope edging, this fabric filters the sun much more effectively than the Coco Classique version of the same model, which is woven at 1,200 g/m². Its open weave, however, allows gusts of wind and warm air to pass through: wind resistance remains low and cool air circulates beneath the fabric. Allow for a minimum hanging height of 3 m and a width at least 50 cm narrower than the area to be covered. Cables, tensioners and wall hooks are included in our installation pack with a 20 m cable; two people are required for installation.
Five-season lifespan, 3-year guarantee
Made from rot-proof, bio-sourced and 100% biodegradable coconut fibre, this fabric has not undergone any chemical treatment. It is rain-resistant, does not retain water and naturally turns grey, developing a silvery patina that in no way affects its effectiveness. Whilst our standard ranges last 3 to 4 years, the Coco Robusta has an average lifespan of 5 years and comes with a 3-year guarantee. For smaller areas that do not require a full grid, the Robusta with 4 fixing points is easier to install, and you’ll find the full range of models in our complete range.
