Square and rectangular shade sail with binding: the Signature finish

A cotton twill binding edges all four sides of this Signature coconut fiber rectangular shade sail and extends beyond each corner. On a four-point design, this detail is crucial: the border acts as a structural belt, distributing the tension from the ropes along the perimeter rather than concentrating it on just a few stitches. The result is immediately apparent—clean lines, crisp corners, and a canopy that remains taut season after season. This is the tangible difference compared to the Classic Coconut 4-point shade sail, which features a simpler edge finish; while both offer the same material and natural shade from the dense weave, the 7.3 cm brown border on the Signature model transforms the final look. We apply this same level of care to our Signature shade canopy for pergolas.

Seven sizes to cover squares, rectangles, and large terraces

While a triangular sail requires only three anchor points, the four-point format covers a larger usable area and naturally complements the layout of a terrace, outdoor seating area, or poolside space. We offer seven sizes, ranging from 2×2 m to 4×4 m, including rectangular options of 2×3 m, 2×4 m, and 3×4 m. The four attachment loops come with thimbles pre-installed on the brass eyelets, saving you the most tedious step of the installation process. Plan for a minimum mounting height of 2.80 m and a sail size at least 50 cm smaller than the area to be covered: for an actual 4×4 m space, aim for a 3.50×3.50 m sail. Browse the entire Signature hanging range to compare the two available shapes.

Diagonal support recommended for large sizes

Derived from coconut husks, the fiber is bio-based, biodegradable, and undergoes no chemical treatment. It is rot-proof and unaffected by rain: upon contact with water, the weave expands and the sail doubles in weight, before returning to its original tension once dry. It is precisely to handle this temporary load that diagonal support is recommended for larger sizes—a factor to consider during the design phase of your installation. Over the seasons, the fiber gradually turns grey and develops a silvery patina that in no way compromises its effectiveness. For a terrace corner or a three-anchor space, the Signature triangular sail fits the layout better; if no standard size is suitable, our workshop can create a custom shade sail to your exact measurements.

Triangular shade sail with piping: the finishing touch that makes all the difference

Edged on all three sides with twill cotton piping, this Signature triangular coconut fibre shade sail stands out at first glance thanks to its clean lines. Whereas the Coco Classique triangular shade sail ends at the edge of the weave, the Signature features a 7.3 cm brown border around the fabric, complementing the natural brown of the coconut fibre. This trim is not merely an aesthetic detail: it acts as a structural reinforcement, distributing the tension from the ropes along all three sides rather than concentrating it on just a few meshes. The dense weave of 1,200 g/m² and its 1 cm thickness do the rest, providing natural shade without ever blocking the flow of air. The same attention to detail is evident in our Signature shade sail for pergolas.

A triangular sail with three attachment points, installed in a single afternoon

Just three anchor points: this is the quickest-to-install design and the most adaptable to uneven surfaces. A wall, a post or a tree trunk is all it takes, and the triangle covers the corners of the patio that a square design would leave empty. With this design, it’s all down to the corners: the edging is extended there to double the thickness at the points under the most stress, and the heart-shaped grommets come pre-fitted onto the brass eyelets — sparing you the most tedious part of the installation. Allow for a minimum mounting height of 2.80 m and a width at least 50 cm narrower than the area to be shaded to achieve good tension. Five sizes are available, ranging from 2x2x2 m to 4x4x4 m, plus a 3x4x5 m right-angled version. Discover the full Signature range of hanging shades to compare the models.

A 100% natural material that develops a patina over time

Derived from the coconut husk, the fibre is bio-sourced, biodegradable and undergoes no chemical treatment. Rot-proof, it is not affected by rain: on contact with water, the weave loosens and the sail becomes heavier, before returning to its original tension once dry. Over the seasons, the fibre gradually turns grey, taking on a silvery hue that adds to the overall charm without compromising its effectiveness. No maintenance is required, apart from storing it in a dry place during winter in snowy regions. To provide shade for a larger area with the same finish, opt for the Signature shade sail with 4 attachment points, and if no standard size suits your terrace, our workshop can produce a bespoke shade sail to your exact measurements.
