Usage
Square or rectangular openwork shade sail to be suspended. Suitable for gardens, terraces and balconies, it can be attached to various supports: walls, posts, trees… thanks to its 4 fixing loops.
The Coco Robusta suspension shade sail is designed to last longer and provide better sun protection. It is particularly suitable for southern regions or areas exposed to wind.
Installation and fixing system
Recommended fixing height: at least 2.80 m and at least 3 m for surfaces larger than 10 m².
The dimensions of the chosen sail must be at least 50 cm smaller than those of the area to be shaded in order to achieve good tension.
The loops are already fitted with thimbles to facilitate installation.
Required accessories: 10 metres of rope with a diameter of 1 cm to create the fixings at the anchor points. Please note that, depending on the configuration of the area to be shaded, you may need more rope.
It is recommended to double the rope at the anchor point in order to tension the sail more easily at the corners.
Depending on your support requirements, the use of specific fixing hardware may be recommended.

Maintenance
No special maintenance is required. However, it is strongly recommended to store the shade sail, if possible, in a dry and well-ventilated place, away from rodents.
Weather information
– When in contact with water, the coconut fibre fabric stretches, making the shade sail heavier and doubling its weight. Once the weather is dry, it returns to its original tension. This is how the fibre reacts to moisture.
– In regions where it snows, it is strongly recommended to store the coco shade sail during winter to avoid any potential damage.
– For large shade sails, we recommend installing cables under the sail to support its weight, or providing accessories such as carabiners to facilitate installation and removal of the sail.
– During long periods of drought, it is advisable to water or moisten the shade sail from time to time to extend its lifespan. Coconut fibre prefers a slightly humid climate.
– Finally, over time, coconut fibre naturally takes on a grey and silver hue that gives it a rustic charm. This change in appearance does not affect its effectiveness in any way.

Ultra-dense shade sail: a genuine heat shield
With its 68 per cent denser weave, this ultra-dense coconut fibre shade sail does more than just filter light: it blocks the sun’s rays to create a genuinely cool area, even in the midst of a heatwave. Its weight of 1,600 g/m² and thickness of one centimetre give it a level of opacity rarely found in an open-weave fabric, without ever trapping hot air — air can still circulate freely underneath. This is the key difference compared to the Coco Classique rectangular shade sail, woven at 1,200 g/m²: same material, same design ethos, but with significantly deeper shade and a reinforced 17 mm rope edging.
A wind-resistant shade sail, diagonally reinforced
Its airy structure allows gusts to pass through rather than resisting them: wind catch remains very low, a decisive advantage in exposed areas or by the sea. The four attachment loops, reinforced with cross-weave reinforcement and improved perimeter ropes, come with their heart-shaped eyelets already fitted — sparing you the most tedious part of the installation. Allow for a minimum attachment height of 2.80 m, 3 m for areas over 10 m², and ensure the lower edge of the fabric is at least 50 cm below the area to be covered to achieve the correct tension. It is rain-resistant, does not retain water and naturally turns grey over time, developing a silvery patina that in no way affects its effectiveness. Whilst our standard ranges last 3 to 4 years, the Coco Robusta has an average lifespan of 5 years and comes with a 3-year guarantee. For large sizes, diagonal support is recommended to bear the weight of the wet fabric, which doubles when it comes into contact with water.
