This indoor coir rug dresses your floor in raw, natural material, free from borders or ornamentation. Woven from coconut fiber, it offers a warm texture and hue that synthetic alternatives try—but fail—to truly replicate. Its raw, unfinished edges create a clean, graphic aesthetic that fits perfectly in contemporary interiors, minimalist décor, or coastal-style homes. Three sizes to suit any room

The rug is available in three sizes: 140×200 cm, 200×300 cm, and 240×300 cm. The smallest size is ideal for an entryway, a wide hallway, or the foot of a bed. The 200×300 cm option is a classic living room size—generous enough to accommodate a coffee table and the front legs of a sofa. The 240×300 cm size covers a full living area or master bedroom while allowing for easy circulation around the edges. Each rug is delivered rolled up and can be laid down without tools or special preparation.

Stays in place thanks to its latex backing

The underside features a latex coating that grips the floor, preventing the rug from slipping or shifting when walked upon. There is no need for adhesive strips or non-slip underlays; the rug stays exactly where you place it, yet can be removed or repositioned in seconds. This grip works effectively on tile, hardwood, laminate, and polished concrete alike.

Insulating and durable fiber

With a thickness of 13 mm and a weight of 1.6 kg/m², coir fiber creates a genuine barrier between your feet and the floor, insulating against the cold of tiled floors in winter and heat buildup in summer. The material is rot-proof—meaning it is unaffected by normal ambient humidity—and retains its density over time. Our mats come with a 2-year warranty and have an average lifespan of 3 to 4 years, depending on foot traffic.

Where to use it—and where to avoid it

Entrances, living rooms, bedrooms, offices, hallways, guest rooms: coir mats are suitable for any dry area. However, they are not suitable for wet rooms (bathrooms, laundry rooms), highly humid spaces, or floors prone to rising damp; prolonged exposure would eventually cause mold to develop in the fibers. For outdoor use—on sand, grass, or gravel—we recommend our coir walkway mat, which features a herringbone weave and a weight specifically designed for outdoor conditions.

Simple carpet-style maintenance

Regular vacuuming is all that is needed for day-to-day care. For stains, a little water and black soap can handle most household spills without damaging the fiber. No chemical treatments are applied to the product; the material is raw, bio-sourced, and fully biodegradable at the end of its life. It is made from repurposed coconut husks—a previously unused resource—and is woven in India by our long-standing partner.

With or without binding: which to choose?

This model features raw edges, without an added border finish. If you prefer a more refined look, the coir mat with binding features the same fiber and latex backing but adds a brown cotton twill border—approximately 7.3 cm wide—stitched around the entire perimeter. The binding softens the mat’s profile, protects the edges, and is better suited to classic interiors or formal reception rooms. The weave, thickness, dimensions, and maintenance requirements remain identical; the choice comes down solely to the finish.
