How to hang 4-point attachment coco shade sail ?

In order to install the shade sail, galvanized steel heart shaped thimbles are necessary. We sell a quick and easy assembly kit with, for each loop, 1 heart shaped thimble + 2 plastic cable ties + some fine rope to hide the plastic cable.

1 Place your heart shaped thimbles into the loops, following step by step the instructions of the manual.

2 Once the 4 loops are reinforced with heart shaped thimbles, connect them to your fixation points (wall mounts, poles, strong tree branches …) using thick coir rope or steel cable, and following the alignment of the diagonal ropes (see second drawing).

Important ! When your shade sail is installed, reinforced ropes must be turned downwards, in order to support the shade sail.

To know Weight of dense coconut weave: 1.2 kg/m² dry and 2.4 kg/m² when wet. For the ultra-dense weave, its weight is 1.6 kg/m² dry and 3.2 kg/m² when wet. This is important to consider when choosing your attachment points!

Important Do not use plastic ties to secure your canopy; this will prematurely wear the cord and can quickly cause a cord break.

The more distance you measure between each corner and its fixation point (poles or distant tree branches …), the more you’ll have to comply with the crossed ropes alignment, as it is shown in the drawing below.

Depending of the distance, you’ll have to choose between one rope or the other (Ø 1 cm ou Ø 1,4 cm).

Good to know Coconut fiber becomes slack once it is wet ; after the first rains it might be necessary to slightly stretch your shade sail once or twice.

Easy installation of galvanized steel heart shaped thimbles in the loops.

It allows cables and ropes to slide more easily in the loops in order to hang the shade sail. It also protects the inside of the loop.

We sell different rope diameters (1 cm and 1,4 cm). The choice depends on the shade sail’s dimension and the distance between fixation points.
